Certs!

I just completed my week long course to study and take the tests for my A+ and Net+ certs.

I passed all 3 tests yielding 2 IT certs.

Have an extra day in Orlando, FL... For once, I do not have to be busy? Lol.

Urgent Update!

Sorry for nothing new recently.

Guild Wars released the GW2 Hall of Monuments calculator and I was almost done getting 50/50, so I decided to push to complete my HoM score.

Next, I recently found out that the A+ and other CompTIA tests are going for indefinitely to must be renewed every three years. URGH! This change applies at the 1st of this next year, but if you passed the test before that, it is grandfathered and I will never have to renew it.

I will be gone for a week studying that and hopefully get to see at least a little bit of Orlando, Florida.

Wish me luck!

Quicks!

Here is a few doodles for some ideas for my comic. I am not sure if I will actually use them, but they could lead into other ideas. :)

Titans (Comic) Update

No artwork, but good news!

I started to outline the story tonight and I completed the first section of the comic. There are still many things that I need to do before I start working on the official comic, but this will also allow me to get started on the concept art for it.

For once, drawing won't seem like practice, but for a fun project! The more and more I flesh out the story and characters, it energizes me to work on it.

Cannot wait! :)

Dragon "Horns" Update

I tried a different approach on the mountain in the background. I think it looks better, but I still have a long way to go, lol.

Enjoy it! :)

Human Practice

I get inspired to draw humans by drawing people from Muse... It's my "muse". :P

Still learning the proportions on those human faces. I do not have much of an issue when I go more cartoony, but when I try for the more realistic proportions, umm... yeah... it does not work so well, lol.

More practice, I guess... back to drawing!

Dragon "Horns"

This was a few ideas bunched into one. This dragon has horns the lets out a really loud sound, ear shattering. On the neck, it has openings that allow in air for the horns. The horns can work separately from the breathing.

Thought I would post a WIP... hopefully this won't kill the mood to work on it, lol. Break time! :)

Bike - Part 4-5, 6

Almost done, I just need to take it to a buddy I made at the local bike shops to help me finish this baby off.

OOPS! >.>...

Cannot wait to ride it around downtown! :)

Titans; Concept Art: Cuuute!

It was getting late and I did not want to go paint all of those other petals and I started to get lazy around the flowers, lol. I "may" do that at a later time, but we'll see. Going back to projects like this usually do not happen. xD

Enjoy! :)

Titans; Concept Art: Red Petals

I am going to have to call it on this one. I do not know if I just got scared while trying to work on the background or what, but I just felt I needed to stop on this image.

I am not use to doing images like this, but I am sure it will get easier with time. Just wish I could be as good as I want to be right now (don't most artists? :P ).

Edit: I do not know why I said "leaves". I meant Petals. :\

Titans; Concept Art: WIP

This is still a WIP, but I really like how it is turning out. I got to work on the full bodies of the characters this time. :)

I am also working on a blog for this comic. When I have more of it completed, I will link ya all to it.

I bought some new inking pens and they should be coming soon! Once I get those, I will continue on this comic.

Kudos to me! I am happy with this (which is rare)! xD

Crazy Gator

Don't ask... I just wanted to draw it. :P

Bike - Part 3b

So I lied...

I decided to do it tonight, so I do not have to do anymore "grinding" down on this bike. Urgh!

The hard part is over! Now I just need to figure out where and when I am going to start priming and painting it. :P

Enjoy!

Bike - Part 3

I forgot to add my comments, lol.

The bike is almost done and ready for painting. I just need to do the handlebar part, but that's going to be fun if you cannot tell from the picture I took of it... IT SCRATCHED TO HELL! I did not think I would need to get any of that paddy to cover deep cracks and stuff, but if those scratches are too bad, I will definately have to do something. :\

To think I thought I could do this in one day... LOL. I am on the eleventh hour working on this bike. (Most of it peeling decals!) So many damn decals on this bike. Talk about a "cheap" bike. Good thing I am turning it into something actually good. xD

(Sorry about the gif. I fixed the image above.)

Wolf Comic Character

Most are probably wondering about the comic. I kind of hit an art block on it because my main pens for inking dried up and/or ran out of ink. So I figured I would try drawing one of the characters.

I do not even have a name for the characters yet, but I am not really good at thinking up names. Everything always sounds cliche or Average Joe. Probably not a good habit to try to draw characters after I have started the comic. I was not taking it seriously at the beginning, so do not judge me! xD

I will work on this some more, but sleep took over again, so I have to stop drawing for tonight. :\

Bike - Part 2

This is a close up of the part that I had trouble getting off. I ended up taking to a bike store and they same guy I talked to in the previous day helped me take it off there. You need like 2 or 3 special tools (more expensive than the chain tool) to get these bad boys off. He was a bunch of help! :)

I bought some new tires, too. Good for riding on the streets and I can go off-road as well. Guess where I went to buy them? :P

This is FINALLY the part all buy itself, but I still have several steps to go through before the "fun" part... PAINTING! :P

This bike has decals all over the place, so I need to figure out how to get them all off with little to no headache. I might have to go try the blow dryer idea. I was just going to scrap them off, but there are TOO MANY than I have the patience for, lol.

Enjoy Part 2! :D

Bike Design

I am still deciding on how I want to design my bike and how I want to put it on the bike. Do not know if I am going to stencil it, decal it, or what. I am sure once I settle on something, then I can figure out what would be the best choice. :P

Bike - Part 1

I might be getting a little over my head, but this is definately turning into quite the challenge.

I recently got a free bike from a friend, but I thought about it and asked myself, "why not try to paint it something that you'd be happy with?" So I did some research and got most of the supplies. I spent most of the time today dismantling the bike into separate pieces. I took pictures to hopefully remind me where things go if I forget when I get to putting the bike back together.

In the slideshow, I took images whenever I could. The bike is almost fully disassembled with the exception for the bike stand (do not have a hex key size for it) and the pedals (I do not have anything thin enough to take off the pedal stems).

This bike chain did not have a master chain link, so I had to buy a chain tool to get it apart. Not that I mind. If I am riding a bike often as I am hoping I will, I might need it for further maintenance later. :P

Anyways, enjoy!

Cheetah Dragon

I will probably setup another blog for the comic soon. ;P

Here's another concept idea for my comic. So many ideas, but which story path to choose? Hmm... xD

Hoomans and Spoilers...

Yeah, some more human doodles... xD

I may use this concept for something, so that is why I didn't show the thumbnail.

Enjoy. :)

More Practice

Another doodle. :)~

Comic WIP 2

I swear I will get to the third page. :P

I have been testing out different things to get a feel for what I want to do in the comic and the environment. I decided a random choice to do it in a forest or jungle. I will probably touch up these pages one more time then proceed to the rest.

The dialog is not a "final" thing, but it gets the general idea across. :)

Edit: Just realized I forgot to flip the 4th page horizontally - flipped them to make sense to Americans. xD

More on Comic WIP

Working on page 3... xP

Some quick scans, but it gives you the general idea. I still have to redo the 3rd page, but I figured I would work on that one after I finishing inking the 4th page.

Most likely I will switch to some comic paper for page 5 and on since this is become a more serious project than I predicted. xD

If a question you have is "what is going on?", I really have no idea either. I usually plan things, but I am just going to explore the world, characters, and situations as I go along. It will be like evolving the characters and world as the characters would explore and etc. Silly idea, no? :P

Edit: Also forgot to add that it reads Right to Left, Top to Bottom.

Ol' Pencil and Ink

Back to the good ol' pencil and ink.

Just randomly started this comic. :)

Family Crest Dragon

I did the pen sketch during an art jam at the PopCap studios. One of the guys suggested something that I have considered and possibly making it into a character for something. The suggestion was to create a family crest to be placed on the side of the head (that dark area). Neat concept... might play around with that. :)

The top was a full body rendition. Sometimes I have trouble recreating a character, so it may take some trail and error to get it to look right (especially from side to frontal view). It will probably look more like the pen sketch once I add a little more of the details that bring out the character.

Kudos on the family crest idea!

Zomg... hooman!

I have a really hard time drawing 'hoomans'. I have many ideas, like comics and such, but I need to know how to draw humans.

I have been slowly implementing them into my artwork to force me to draw them more and more.

Randomly started drawing this guy. Added more and more to him to make him a little more refined (he was originally just a blue sketch).

Enjoy! :P

Another Lizard Eye

I had another doodle WIP, but I am having some real trouble getting the texture to look right. If I figure something out, I will post that one as well; at the moment, I do not like how it looks.

This image turned out pretty good though. :)

Armor

Besides lizards and dragon creatures and characters, I also like drawing armor.

There is a certain level of detail I am trying to accomplish. :)

As for the image itself, I have no idea where I was going with this, but here it is, lol.

Urgh... scales...

Doodle before leaving to an art jam. :)

Needed to break the laziness, lol.

WIP and Doodles!

This is a WIP... :) I have this as printable size, so I might print it out and frame it when it is done. :D
These are some doodles that I started to mess with again. :P

Dragon and Some People

I did not finish it, but I wanted to post it anyways. :)

Having no scanner sucks; I have to use my digital camera to get the traditional images onto my computer. :\

Deafening and Blinding

Creature design for a "deadly assassin". I like the concept, but I just do not think it fits into the "assassin" part.

The two points on the head can create a spark (or flash) to blind other creatures.
The creature's roar is so loud that it is deafening to the ears. Humans would hear nothing but ringing for a while.

Nom-nom time if your prey cannot see or hear you coming. :P

But, I might try something else...

A'nather

Matting done! :)

I went to Michael's and bought some frames. ^^

These make me full of happiness. Now I just need to hang them on the walls, lol. :)

First Matting!

I bought two prints from Katy about a year ago and decided to start with the smaller one.

I just need to buy some artist tape to finish this one and move on to the bigger one. :D

The bigger print that I got is this one: http://tangrala.blogspot.com/2009/03/lost-fox-final-image.html. I cannot wait to frame and hang this one! ^^;

...and finally used my mat cutter... yay! :P

Dragon Doodle

It has been a while since I have posted a drawing, so here is a doodle. I started using traditional media a little more as well. This makes me happy, lol. ^^

"de_turk" final! (Map)

Okay... I would have had this done MUCH sooner, but I got some hang ups in the final parts of this map. Some things that I WILL NOT do again.

Aftermath: I have learned a lot from doing this again. Stuff that I have long forgotten. Do it right the first time will make it easier for the next map. :P Also, map optimization is VERY important to the client and myself (for map compiling time).

I will find a place to upload this after I wake up. Right now, I need a break from this process. I was getting so irritated when everything was working for everyone else, but not me. After I messed around with different fixes and spending countless hours trying to fix them, I have found that EVERY tutorial I came across for creating your own textures for a map were doing the same thing wrong. Uuurgh!

Anyways, night-night, enjoy all! ^^

Music That Inspires Me...

This is only one group of several that I enjoy listening to, especially live.

Live performances seem to have more "life" and the crowd really makes the music feel more soothing to me. I listen to the entire concert, but I found a clip on youtube to share from "Muse - Live at Wembley - H.A.A.R.P. Tour 2007". It does not only sound great, but it is visually appealing as well.. This! ...gets me inspired and motivated!

I also enjoy listening to "Meat Loaf - Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra". :)

Almost Done! (Map)

Top snapshots is pretty much the walkable map.

Bottom is a little closer to give a little more "feel" of the areas.

Turns out this will be a bomb map. I will probably make multiple versions of this map for other game modes.

Will probably touch up a few more things tomorrow. Things that I have to figure out how to get them to work, or adding more props so the area isn't too bland.

When I am done, I am going to release a beta version for testing. Hopefully everything goes well. :)

Oh yeah... and creating the vis for the map... grrr...
